Drawing From Your Imagination Artist Workshop by Wildago 28 February 2012
Come & join in the fun, learning with laughter and a spot of delicious food!

10.30am – 3.30pm
The Workshop – Drawing From Your Imagination – will begin with a welcome tea or coffee and delicious morning goodies alongside a brief introduction. Wildago will then describe how, after a 20 year career in I.T., her drawing hobby became a full-time job. She will also share some thoughts on why she believes we all have the capacity to draw pictures.

And before the coffee grows cold, Wildago will get you warmed up with some simple and fun timed exercises. In a gentle and humorous way, you will start to see that’s drawing is not so difficult after all.

As Wildago’s passion is cartoon-styled art, emphasis will be placed on showing personality and emotion through faces and body poses. She will share ‘toon tips’ on how to achieve this. It is not a life-drawing course, nor will participants be asked to replicate photographs. All of the art produced will come from the imagination, even with your eyes closed at times!

A lovely lunch will be served and the artist encourages the group to engage in a discussion about what you have learned so far and what you want to get out of the rest of the day.

The balance of the workshop will be rolling up the sleeves and creating more quick sketches, followed by developing one or two of the sketches into finished pieces. We’ll stop for a quick break where tea, coffee and homemade cakes will be provided. Then it’s back to the drawing board

All materials will be provided, but you may want to bring a clip-board if you think you’d like to draw in a reclined or relaxed position. Participants will be able to try different drawing implements, including pencils, charcoal, markers and dip-pens. Do not wear your best clothes!

This course requires no previous experience, just a willingness to have fun and use the imagination. It is particularly targeted at individuals who feel they cannot draw!

Cost of the day is £45.00 inclusive of all food, drinks and materials as stated above.
